How beautiful it is to dream like a child, where there is no limitations. As we grow, we are taught to “be real”, which actually means to stop dreaming. The sad reality is that most people in today’s society no longer have dreams and no longer know how to dream. The consequences of not having dreams are that we lose our curiosity, our drive to explore, to try new approaches, new solutions… One common issue many of my clients have mentioned is that they do not know their purpose in life. They have realised that what they have been doing is not what they want and they don’t know what to do next. In principle, this is easy to address by working on their life vision, values and mission. What I have found interesting in this process is that they forgot how to dream, how to reach out for new possibilities and opportunities, to be curious. In short, our dreams provide us with a vision to where we want to be in life, they provide us with a purpose in life. The best part of this is that once we have a purpose, a well defined purpose, all obstacles seem to disappear. Think about it. I wonder, do you have dreams? … Furthermore: Do you think we should keep going in dreaming for a new and better life? Are you coming up with new dreams as you go through your life? More importantly: Do you know how to dream?
I think it is safe to say that we know how valuable creativity and innovation can be in all aspects of life (personal & business). The trick is how do we develop this skills? What do we need to do? It is actually very simple: Challenge all (in a constructive and resourceful way). I find the following questions a good habit to promote my thinking and improve my creativity and innovation: Why must it be this way? What else has been attempted? What do the successes do? What is its purpose? Does its current form promote its true purpose? What else could achieve this? What’s missing? What’s annoying? Why do anything? If we didn’t have this, what would we do? What do you think? Do you have anything else you can add?
Many people seek success and only a few achieve it. One way to achieve your own success is with a clear view of what you want to achieve. These four steps provides a checklist to get this clear view on what you want to achieve.
5.- Lack of vision for ourselves where we dare to have dreams come true: Lack of clarity of our life in the future and afraid of making our dreams a reality. Discover YOUR truth: We all have a message within us We all have something important to share We’ve just been so used to burying it, we forget
4.- Poor Planning: Often relates to not able to set goals or setting goals and not achieving them. Focus on what is important to you and your life right NOW! Then define on what will move you towards your IDEAL LIFE in the FUTURE and work on what MUST be done now!
3.- Self doubt: Fear of not being good enough. Turn our obstacles into goals, so something line “I can’t learn something new…” becomes “It is April 2016 and I am learning how to remove the barriers to my success!”
